Judas and the Black Messiah

A badge is scarier than a gun.

Daniel Kaluuya portraying Fred Hampton was one of the best on-screen performances that I’ve seen in my life. He was captivating and powerful in a film that demanded the viewers attention throughout. The entire cast was spectacular in what I would call the best ensemble of the year so far. Director, Shaka King did a brilliant job of bringing an important story to life. This film didn’t miss a beat. Literally everything was done perfectly, as I could not find a single flaw. It was beautifully shot with a thought provoking and emotional narrative that will allow you to get upset, but doesn’t force any emotion.

Once again, These Stories Must Be Told. Black filmmakers and actors need to continue to tell the stories that shine a light on what black people in America have been going through for far too long. The system is rigged. And eyes need to continue to be opened until racism no longer exists. The FBI killed Fred Hampton in his sleep when he was 21 years old. Let that sink in, let the entire film sink in.
