F*** the patriarchy.
A powerful message that resonates with its audience, all while not necessarily being a good film. There are a lot of cliche high school moments, but also plenty of toxic masculinity to get your attention, and to help make way for the topical part of the film. Amy Poehler captured a proper tone to send her overall message, and the young cast did a pretty good job of delivering it. There’s something about teens starting a revolution that automatically makes for a watchable movie. If you like woke movies, you’ll probably enjoy this to a degree.
