Nine Perfect Strangers

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

A brilliantly acted limited mystery/drama series featuring some pretty deep character development, but with some odd writing decisions and overall content. Every actor was casted perfectly, and executed their rules flawlessly. That’s a big statement, and I mean it. All of the characters are somewhat relatable even though their situation is mostly unfamiliar. Because the story is so odd, a lot of the events are unique and original, making for a one of a kind show. It’s pretty cryptic most of the way through, as the audience isn’t fully aware of what’s going on, but we do know we’re missing some pieces.

This might be the most well acted show that utilizes 12 main characters that I’ve ever seen. The performances from Melissa McCarthy, Bobby Cannavale, and Nicole Kidman stood out over the crowd, but the MVP was, without a doubt, Michael Shannon. Wow.

This is weird, and might turn some people off. But if for nothing else, watch it for the acting performances.
